In a context marked by growing social and territorial inequalities, the questioning of public cultural funding, and the challenges faced by social policies in addressing the needs of the most vulnerable, cultural actors are emerging as figures of resistance.
<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Through their commitment, they reject the idea that culture should become a privilege reserved for a few, and instead reaffirm its essential role in building a fairer and more inclusive society. On the ground, they create spaces for expression, social connection, and both individual and collective transformation \u2014 despite budget constraints, lack of public support, institutional resistance, and sometimes contradictory policy expectations.
<\/span><\/p>\n

Two meetings were held in Montpellier between 2024 and 2025, bringing together professionals from the cultural and social sectors, as well as institutions \u2014 first on a local scale, then for an international exchange (Germany, Burkina Faso, France, Sweden).
<\/span><\/p>\n

On 31 October and 7 November<\/strong>, as part of the HYPE OCC festival, the next meeting will take the form of two afternoon working sessions focused on themes collectively defined in advance. We will meet both in person and online, in different spaces (in Montpellier and virtual rooms), to deepen discussions and potentially spark future collaborations.<\/span><\/p>\n

These meetings will again be bilingual (French\/English).
<\/span><\/p>\n

This cycle of exchanges is open to all professionals engaged or interested in the topic. It aims to generate concrete pathways for collaboration, to strengthen ties between culture and social work, and to co-create inclusive projects that foster civic engagement and collective responsibility.

Pass Pass<\/em> is the new creation by Francky Corcoy, scheduled for 2026, blending breakdance <\/em>(B-boying, B-girling), musical composition, and text.<\/strong>
<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Through a dramaturgy rooted in storytelling and the musicality of movement, the piece explores the question of transmission within hiphop dance \u2014 that of an artist choosing to pass the torch. Two performers \u2014 Ma\u00eblys Escare and Timoth\u00e9e Allal \u2014 embody the relationship between the apprentice and the mentor, between inheritance and emancipation, in a staging that combines energy, emotion, and technical precision.
<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Anchored in the choreographer\u2019s personal journey, this creation extends the intimate work initiated with GROS<\/em>, a piece about difference and self-esteem. Today, Corcoy steps back from the stage to question the idea of transmission, driven by the desire to pass on knowledge and passion through other bodies. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The piece reflects on the cycle of giving, artistic lineage, and self-reinvention through others, supported by an original score from the legendary Frank2Louise<\/strong> and a poetic text by Caroline Stella<\/strong> \u2014 a constant dialogue between dance, speech, and music.
<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The performance will be followed by a Q&A.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Sonance<\/em> is the first creation by Ana\u00efs Mauri and Germain Zambi, an emblematic duo from the krump scene.
<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Born respectively in Italy and Congo before settling in France at the age of ten, they transform their natural shyness into an embodied intensity where revolt and love intertwine.
<\/span><\/p>\n

Through raw physicality and deep mutual listening, Sonance<\/em> explores a central question: how do those who do not speak make themselves heard?
It is a work about silent complicity, shared vibration between two beings, and the inner music that emerges from trust and collective movement.
<\/span><\/p>\n

Together, Ana\u00efs and Germain offer with Sonance<\/em> a dance of listening and resonance \u2014 a silent dialogue between two bodies that understand each other beyond words.
<\/span><\/p>\n

The performance will be followed by a Q&A.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Histoire(s) D\u00e9coloniale(s)<\/em> is a choreographic series imagined by Betty Tchomanga. Each episode explores the ties between Africa and the West through the prism of an individual story, a body, an experience. Conceived as a set of performative portraits, the series takes the form of \u201cspectacular lessons\u201d that question colonial narratives and their contemporary legacies.
<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Through this series, Tchomanga continues her research on memory, speech, and the traces left in the body, following in the footsteps of her previous creation Le\u00e7ons de T\u00e9n\u00e8bres (Lessons of Darkness).<\/em> Each episode stands on its own or can be combined with others to form a broader choreographic journey.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The episode #Mulunesh<\/em> is presented at HYPE OCC in Montpellier and in Tarbes, for both school audiences and general public. Born from the encounter with dancer Ad\u00e9la\u00efde Desseauve, Betty Tchomanga extends this dialogue through krump \u2014 a dance of expression and transformation of violence.
This portrait questions identity and memory through the experience of transnational and transracial adoption. It explores how loss, silence, and discrimination shape the body, and how, through dance, one can rebuild a story from absence.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The performance will be followed by a Q&A.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This performance is also presented at 14:00 for school and youth audiences, related to camin aktion’s #JeSuis social-cultural program.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

For HYPE OCC, Germain Zambi, aka Twin Sniper, leads a krump masterclass designed for dancers with solid experience \u2014 not necessarily in krump.

He guides participants toward body awareness, energy flow, groove, storytelling, and the krump session<\/em> experience.

Twin Sniper<\/a> <\/strong>(interview in French here<\/a>) is a versatile krump dancer. He discovered hiphop in 2012 through various workshops. In 2019, he joined choreographer David Drouard\u2019s company D.A.D.R Cie for the creation of MU<\/em>, later collaborating with D\u00e9lit de Fa\u00e7ade in 2020. In 2021, he took part in Dead Trees Give No Shelter<\/em>, a creation by double bassist Florentin Ginot and choreographer Soa Ratsifandrihana. With Ana\u00efs Mauri aka Silent, he presents the work-in-progress duet Sonance<\/em> the day before.<\/span><\/p>\n

Twin Sniper<\/a> <\/strong>(interview in French here<\/a>) is a versatile krump dancer. He discovered hiphop in 2012 through various workshops. In 2019, he joined choreographer David Drouard\u2019s company D.A.D.R Cie for the creation of MU<\/em>, later collaborating with D\u00e9lit de Fa\u00e7ade in 2020. In 2021, he took part in Dead Trees Give No Shelter<\/em>, a creation by double bassist Florentin Ginot and choreographer Soa Ratsifandrihana. Rooted in hiphop culture, Karim Kh – dancer, choreographer, film maker – shapes a distinctive choreographic language that he transposes to the screen. His films do not simply capture dance \u2014 they explore how the body itself can become cinematic material.

K.R.U.M.P \u2014 Kingdom Radically Uplifted Mighty Praise \u2014 is a movement born in the United States in the early 2000s, thanks to clown Tommy. Its pioneers include Tight Eyez and Big Mijo.

They grew up in South Central Los Angeles and belong to a community with its own codes: absolute respect for one another, hierarchical families, and members who are chosen only after epic battles. Not only does the \u201cmaster\u201d select their \u201cchildren,\u201d but the entire family must be convinced by the dancer\u2019s performance before welcoming them in.
<\/span><\/p>\n

With Krump Get Off, director Romain Cieutat<\/strong> offers a sensitive and nuanced look at this culture. His camera disappears into the movement \u2014 and into our gaze as viewers \u2014 revealing an intimacy that resonates through every gesture and every breath. <\/span><\/p>\n

Drink the Sea Inside of Me<\/em> is a creation by Johanna Faye \u2014 a poetic dive into human emotions, where love is seen as a fluid substance, without form or border. <\/span><\/span>Inspired by the words of poet Nayyirah Waheed \u2014 I want you to drink the sea inside of me<\/em> \u2014 the piece explores vulnerability as a strength, an opening to oneself, to others, to life.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Through movement, Johanna Faye and Karim Kh let themselves be carried by emotional tides, seeking to fully inhabit their feelings \u2014 together and apart \u2014 in a choreographic dialogue both intimate and universal.<\/span><\/p>\n

A leading figure on the French choreographic scene, Johanna Faye unfolds here her art of blending aesthetics and her ability to embody profound emotion. Alongside Karim Kh \u2014 dancer, choreographer, filmmaker, and founder of Compagnie Kh \u2014 she shapes an organic, free, and porous dance, where every movement becomes breath, wave, and pulse.

Drawing on the idea of the body as a site where the traces of its history are preserved, three women attempt to deconstruct what their environment has inscribed within them \u2014 the belief that, to survive, they must become what people in the housing projects call \u201cbonhommes\u201d (real guys<\/em>). Between the desire to be oneself and the need to adapt, building oneself as a woman reflects both protection strategies and the search for individuality.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

In this second creation Hidden Project<\/em>, Sarah Cerneaux<\/strong> explores the camouflage strategies of women from marginalized urban areas (labelled in France as \u201cZ.U.S.\u201d \u2014 Zones Urbaines Sensibles<\/em>). This process consists of blending into a hostile environment by consciously or unconsciously adopting the appearance, language, and behavior of the \u201coppressor.\u201d A theme that resonates deeply with her own personal experience.<\/span><\/p>\n

For HYPE OCC, the choreographer and her dancers are invited to an in-situ exploration of this approach \u2014\u00a0Hidden++,<\/em> imagined as a distinct and evolving form. She has carte blanche to anchor this piece within both the outdoor and indoor spaces of the Agora.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sarah Cerneaux began her dance training at the James Carl\u00e8s Centre in Toulouse at age 20. In 2004, she moved to Paris and continued learning with teachers such as Corinne Lanselle, Carolyn Carlson, Julien Hamilton, and Junior Almeida, one of the French pioneers of hiphop dance culture.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since then, she has worked with Abou Lagraa, Vincent Mantso\u00e9, David Drouard, and Maryse Delente, among others. In 2014, she began a collaboration with Liz Roche Company (Dublin) as a performer and joined the Akram Khan Company the same year for a revival of Kaash<\/em>.
After returning to France in 2017, she worked with Amala Dianor Company and decided to develop her own choreographic language.
She later founded Company La Face B and created the solo Either Way.<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The performance is followed by a Q&A.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

HYPE OCC presents a short version \u2014 an extension of Sarah Cerneaux\u2019s creation \u2014 as part of camin aktion\u2019s commitment within the R\u00e9seau Danse Occitanie.
In the same dynamic, Cie La Face B is hosted in residency at the P\u00f4le Chor\u00e9graphique Bernard Glandier and the Agora, Cit\u00e9 Internationale de la Danse.
