Contemporary halling: 8 June – 4 September – 5 December 2018

FRIKAR X and choreographer Hallgrim Hansegård invite you to a workshop series over three years focusing on the transfer of quality from the hall dance to contemporary dance. Informations here.

Initially, it focuses on dropping, failing and touching as three principles where Norwegian folk dance plays on the force of gravity and provides an organic way of achieving dynamic reach. The workshop series is meant to be a dialogue with you, participating in which you can try out the principle of movement in your own work, and thus affect our work with Contempor@r Halling.

Sessions 2018: 8June: 18h-20h, Kyrre Texnæs Studio, Oslo | 4 September: 18h-20h, Sentralen, Oslo | 5 December: 18h-20h, Sentralen, Oslo

Gaga workshop with Natalia Vik: 23 & 24 June 2018

Fjelldansen, Regional Competence Center for Dance, invites to a workshop with Natalia Vik. Informations here.

Gaga classes provide a creative framework for participants to come into contact with body and imagination, increase physical awareness, develop flexibility and endurance, and experience the joy of movement in an open and acceptable atmosphere.

Gaga is a movement system that provides a platform for gaining knowledge and self-awareness throughout the body. Gaga opens up to discover and strengthen your body and add flexibility, stamina and agility while facilitating your senses and imagination. Gaga awakens awareness of physical weaknesses, awakens numb areas, reveals physical fixations, and offers ways of elimination. The work improves instinctive movement and connects conscious and unconscious movement and provides an experience of freedom and joy in a pleasant place, in comfortable clothes, accompanied by music, every person with herself/himself and with the group.

Gaga classes are taught by dancers who have worked with Ohad Naharin in the Batsheva Ensemble or Batsheva Dance Company.

Sessions:

Saturday 23 June : 10:00-12:00 & 12:45-16:00
Sunday 24June : 09:00-12:00 & 12:45-15:00
